RTA Dubai brings together all your traffic and transportation services in one place.

Overview
RTA Dubai App includes more than 40 services designed to support drivers and passengers across service centres, metro and bus stations, taxi bookings, parking and more.

Challenge
A field of silos.
The client came to us with an major challenge. That is, the Dubai government's transportation services were functioning as independent entities with their own stand-alone mobile apps, and hence governance, and needed to be unified without service interruption to end users.
The services in question included (but were not limited to) Drivers & Vehicle Licensing, Traffic Fines, Salik Toll Gates, Public Parking, Public Transport (Taxis, Buses, Ferries) - just to name a few.
Up until this point, every app also had its own brand identity, service architecture, and user experience. This also meant that every app also had its own separate authentication methods (which meant users needed various usernames and passwords for every app).
The challenge was ambitous, and we were up for it!

Solution
Silos, unite!
The journey began with a comprehensive assessment of each entity’s architecture, technology stack, security protocols, and supporting systems. This analysis allowed us to identify the optimal path for delivering a seamless, consistent user experience across the board.
From an Experience Design perspective, we introduced a bold “super-app” approach: a central dashboard that summarizes key metrics for each service, with quick access to detailed views, ordered by relevance and usage. For example, if a driver’s license or registered vehicle is detected, the "Drivers & Vehicle Licensing" tab appears first. This same idea carried over to other RTA services—putting the most useful info and sub-services front and center, based on what each user needed.
We tied everything together with a consistent tone and RTA’s branding, so each dashboard felt part of the same smooth, familiar experience.
